Secret love of mine
Growing
up with strict parents was never been so easy. They want to be your company everywhere you
go, always there to guard you, always want to know whatever you are doing and
most of all put limits in everything you do. But despite of all those
perfectionism you still obey them because you want them proud. Until someone/something
changes your perspective that makes you want to break the rule, want to step
into the limits and live in anyway you want.
It was
an intense and tiring day after our volleyball training when my teammates
decided to watch a game in our brgy. As for us who’s tired from the training we
just searched for our spot to seat. While looking for some seat there’s this
one guy caught my attention, he was one of the players. He played so well that
every spikes he does makes someone amazed. And it suddenly boosted my energy
from sleepy and tired me I began to be cheerful and alive. It was “crush at
first sight” and from that moment I always wanted to watch him play, I made
sure that Im always present everytime he has game. Until some friend of mine
introduced me to him, I was literally happy back then. We became friends but I knew to myself that I like him more than
just a friend, but I know more that it cant be more than that because my parent
will not like it and I don’t want to rebel to them. Days had pass friendship
became deeper and we’re comfortable with each other. Unexpectedly, he confessed
to me saying that he wants to court me. I was so shocked and I’m between of
saying yes and no. Yes, I want to be his girl yet I don’t want to defy my
parents. I tried avoiding him but he was so serious, that he even want to meet
my parents. And as much as I want to, I know my parents more and they wont approve
on it. He continued courting despite fact about what I told him. He was so
determined and patiently waiting until I gave in and we became official. We decided
to keep it to my parents, friends, siblings, to everyone. It wasn’t easy to
keep secret specially when you’re not use to it. I always wanted to tell them
about it, but until now I haven’t gain my confident because I was dominated by
my fear that they will be mad and be ashamed of me. I hope in time, they’ll
learn to accept it and still they’ll be proud of me.
The
best goal in life is to make your parents proud. And when you can already say
that you’d been a good daughter/son to them. That’s why Im making everything to
make them proud. But what if, what they think the best for you contradicts what
you really want. Will that make you bad child? What if you follow what your
heart tells you to do and its different from what your parents wants you to do.
Are you a rebel now? Im not saying that we should defy nor we should obey our
parents all the time. We must know how to balance things because in the end its
your life that will take the big consequences in everything that we do. And if
your lover really loves you, despite all the hardship, they will never leave
you and always there to understand and motivate you in anything that you are
doing.
